Is UFO Disclosure Really Happening?
The UFO conversation has changed forever, and this time, the evidence isn’t coming from whistleblowers or anonymous sources- it is coming directly from the U.S. government.
For decades, reports of unexplained objects in our skies have been surrounded by secrecy, skepticism and unanswered questions. Military personnel described encounters they couldn’t explain. Pilots reported objects behaving in ways that appeared unlike conventional aircraft. And behind closed doors, government agencies accumulated decades of reports, photographs, videos, intelligence files and witness accounts of unexplained phenomenon. Are you one of these witnesses?
The Files Are Coming to Light
For years, much of that information remained classified. Now, something has changed and these records are coming to light. In 2026, the United States government has begun an unprecedented, ongoing release of its UAP – Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena – records through a program called PURSUE: the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters.
On February 19,2026 President Donald Trump directed the Secretary of War and other federal agencies to begin identifying and releasing government records relating to UFOs, UAP, alien and extraterrestrial life, and other related information. The Department of War (DOW), working with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, says it is conducting a government-wide effort to locate, review, declassify and publicly release UAP-related records. According to the DOW, this involves dozens of agencies and tens of millions of records, many of which exist only in paper form and span decades of government history.
Rather than releasing everything at once, the government is releasing the material in what it calls tranches- essentially waves of records as they are located, reviewed and cleared for public release. That distinction is important as the government is not saying that every object in these files is extraterrestrial. In fact, the PURSUE archive specifically describes the material being released as unresolved cases. “Unresolved” does not necessarily mean alien. It means the government has not been able to make a definitive determination about what the observed phenomenon was, which can happen because there isn’t enough information to reach a conclusion.
So What Has Actually Been Found Inside These Files So Far?
Release 01: May 8,2026
The first PURSUE release arrived in May of 2026. It opened a massive public archive containing government records, reports, imagery and video concerning unexplained aerial phenomena. The material stretches across decades and includes records associated with agencies and organizations including the military, FBI, NASA, the State Department and intelligence organizations. Some records reach back to the earliest years of the modern UFO phenomenon, and some involve much more recent encounters. The significance wasn’t necessarily that the first release proved extraterrestrial visitation, it didn’t. The significance was that the government was finally publicly acknowledging something that UFO researchers have argued for decades.
There are substantial historical government records of people reporting unexplained phenomena. And now, many of these records are being placed into the public domain.
The disclosure didn’t stop with the first batch. The DOW established PURSUE as a rolling archive, with additional releases appearing every few weeks.
Release 02 – May 22,2026
Just two weeks later, another collection was released, including historical reports and addional imagery and video.
Release 03 – June 12, 2026
The third tranche added another collection of historical records, including FBI material and reports dating back to the late 1940s.
Release 04 – July 10,2026
The fourth tranche continued the rolling release and added hundreds of megabytes of documents and more than a gigabyte of video.
Release 05 – August 7, 2026
And the most recent, the fifth tranche was just released. This government archive is continuing to grow along with our excitement and pursuit of truth.
But Are They Saying These Are Aliens?
This is where we need to slow down, There is an enormous difference between saying: “The government has released records of unexplained objects.” and saying: “The government has confirmed that extraterrestrial spacecraft are visiting Earth.”
The first statement is supported by the PURSUE releases. The second has not been established by these releases.
The DOW itself says the records are unresolved. Some may eventually have conventional explanations. Others may remain unexplained because the available data is incomplete. That doesn’t make the information uninteresting. Quite the opposite. It gives the public an opportunity to examine the original records and ask questions that previously could not be asked with the same access to government material.
Why This Disclosure is Different
The most interesting part of what is happening may not be a particular photograph or video. It may be the process itself.
For decades, UFO information has been scattered among different government agencies, military branches, intelligence organizations and historical archives. Now the government says it is attempting to bring that information together, review it, declassify it and make it accessible through one public system.
The DOW describes the undertaking as an unprecedented effort involving decades of records and tens of millions of documents. That changes the conversation. Instead of asking only: “Do UFOs exist?” we can begin asking much more specific questions such as: What did government agencies know? What did military personnel actually report? What did the sensors record? What cases were eventually explained? Which ones remain unresolved? Why are certain records classified? and perhaps the biggest question of all What will be revealed next?
This Is Just the Beginning
If there is one thing to understand about the 2026 UFO story, it is this: Were not at the end of disclosure. We’re watching the process unfold in real time. The DOW says additional material will continue to be released as records are located, reviewed and declassified. That means the most important information may not have been released yet.
For those of us who have followed the UFO phenomenon for years or have experienced strange phenomenon themselves, this creates a strange moment in history. Something that was once dismissed almost entirely as conspiracy theory is now being discussed openly by government agencies, military officials, lawmakers, pilots, scientists and the public. The excitement is rising and the truth is finally being set free.
Now we don’t have to choose between blind belief and automatic disbelief. There is another option: Look at the evidence. Read the documents. Watch the footage. Follow the official records. Separate what is known from what is speculation. Then ask the questions.
This is only the beginning. The files are opening. The questions are getting bigger. And disclosure – whatever its ultimate meaning may be – is still unfolding.
